There are thousands and thousands of gently used clothes, shoes, equipment, toys- just waiting for new homes!  On opening day I was able to find over $160 worth of items for Miss Kupcake as well as Dball- so impressed with the Teen's size 18+ and Men's Small items that were available.  I even got him a swimsuit that fits!   Miss Kupcake needed play clothes, which for us includes Gymboree sets (some with tags still on them!) and fun boutique items.  Love that they're all so affordable and in such great condition.  They accept cash, of course, but I use my credit card for the points and then just pay it off every month, which is a little added blessing for us.  My very favorite purchase this time has to be this tankini/rash guard for my little Miss.  I wanted a rash guard suit, but wanted ruffles or something so it wasn't just plain like all the ones I keep seeing.  Look what I found! squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ! ! ! In addition to clothing there's lots o

I was there for at least 3 hours, and managed to look through 6 tubs of shoes in the appropriate size for my 3 y/o (we got cool (sparkly) flip flops, sparkly pink toms, little rain bug shoes....) and a WHOLE ROW of size 6 clothes.    There was more at this sale than ever before- SO MUCH STUFF!!! We got Hanna Andersson dresses, Matilda Jane sets, naartjie outfits, Ralph Lauren sets, Gymboree sets and dresses.... All super affordable and fabulous condition.  I know there were MANY people shopping, but it is such a HUGE space that it totally didn't seem overcrowded- I'll attach pics of my favorite outfits and the venue!  Y'all need to come on down- you don't want to miss it.  Perfect time to restock for Spring and Summer.  I even got a sweet knit Easter Bunny dress for Kupcake to wear at her egg hunt this year!  It was only $4 and looks new! 26 February 2014 . . . 50° yesterday, 25° with snow flurries today

It's been a long Winter.  Seems like we've had more snow and ice this year than we've had in a while.  I am positive there snow flurries flying when I looked out the window at 8:00am this morning. It's also been horrible for allergies, for Dball and myself.  A couple days ago D was itching and his eyes were swollen and red, and he had welts coming up on his arms, back and hands.  Last night his dyshidrotic eczema (we both get on hands and fingers) was flaring up as well. So I figured I need to document what is working for this.  At first when it was just the eczema, I was using helichrysum hydrosol, and then when it dried I had him use a lotion bar I make from coconut oil, frankincense an lavender.  This protocol cleared it up very quickly, and we were able to avoid steroids and antibiotics from the allergist (last year we ended up going that route). The elm and cedar pollen are causing us both allergy problems right now, and since he was itchy all over his back, arms a

It's coming! It's coming!

About twice a year, though some years it's FOUR TIMES, Rhea Lana's Consignment Sale rolls around and we all jump into action!  I know some of my friends participate in Rhea Lana's, but surprisingly there are SO MANY who know nothing about it.  No only do I sell my quality and boutique pre-loved kid's clothes and equipment (bikes! play kitchens! furniture!!) but I also restock Kupcake's wardrobe for the Spring an Summer seasons. Rhea Lana's of NW Arkansas will be here March 2-8.  It's super easy to consign, and even easier to SHOP of course. ;) You just gather all your clothes and stuff that you no longer need, make sure it's in fabulous condition, and go to their website and set up an account.  You put all your clothing on plastic hangers, make sure you have safety pins and appropriate hangtags (all listed on their handy website above^^^), and then sit down and enter them into the system.  You could have hundreds of things just sitting in your drawers a

Cold and blustery 21 January 2014

My sweetest Kupcake seems to be growing up a little more every day.  I'm guessing she could've gone without pull ups at night before now, but I was afraid she'd wet.  Sunday night we talked about how her good (favorite) friend Ava sleeps in panties.  She was leary to try it, but has woken dry for the second morning in a row.  There, now I've jinxed it. Saturday, Sunday and yesterday it was 60° or more, and today it is 16° (feels like 0°, my weather app says).  The weather is crazy this whole week.  Just hoping we don't get pneumonia, really. We had some fun family pictures taken in November.  I had one printed huge (20"x30") but when I looked into framing it, it was going to cost WAY TOO MUCH.   Fortunately, either by some fluke or divine intervention, Bryson won a picture frame that fits and matches a few months ago.  I am so grateful! My as yet  unimplemented plan is to have "circle time" (I don't think that's the word I want to use,

Beautiful day- first day of Church in this new year...

After the weather being cold, icy or just too much snow, we were able to go to church today.  We're studying the Old Testament in Gospel Doctrine (not my favorite, I loved Doctrine & Covenants) but Rick seems excited and optimistic so that's definitely a big plus. My sweet Kupcake is stuck in nursery again this year, even though we'd previously all agreed she would move up since her birthday is January 3, and she's definitely not behind in any way.  We had already talked to her about going to Sunbeams and how she was such a big girl now, and all her friends were moving up to Sunbeams too.... We're trying to be positive and encouraging about another year in nursery, even though we still feel it's completely the wrong decision for Kupcake.  Since she reacts to my feelings and anxiety, and since I have an extremely difficult time hiding those things, it's been a little stressful for me here lately.  We just found out last Thursday that she wouldn't be

is it weekend yet?

Today wasn't so bad. We had Cman visiting for a few hours earlier this afternoon. Dragged the boys (and the girl, of course) to Sam's with me. Picked up the new Harry Potter movie while we were out, of course. When we got home the boys decided to play outside. I don't think it ever got much above 50 ° outside, and they were both wearing shorts, long soccer socks and jackets. They were pretty cute! Sadly I didn't get pics. Very sad indeed. At one point they came in to warm up and worked on a craft. It was THIS ONE , only we had the styro egg crates, so not quite the same to me? It's what D wanted to do, so they did.

24 ½ Weeks

and still going strong. We had our (now every two weeks) appointment with the OB. He was 45+ minutes late- which is just obnoxious. Kenzie did not appreciate him pressing down on her space when measuring fundus height- she started flipping around and her heart rate went up over 150 bpm.

Wednesday

This week is sort of dragging on for me.  Not sure why. General Conference was on Easter Sunday this year, so  we pretty much stayed in jammies all day long.   We enjoyed listening to all of Conference, and had brisket (FABULOUS!) for Easter Dinner.  I also made homemade wheat rolls and strawberry cake.  The rolls were great, but the loaf I made at the same time didn't fare so well because I forgot to grease the bread pan before I put the dough in it =(.  I *lurved* the Strawberry Cake, but D said it "tasted like pumpkin cake only with strawberries.  And not very many strawberries at that."  Also that he "thought it was making [him] sick to his stomach" when he ate it.  B said it wasn't the most fantastic cake I had ever made, but it was okay....

Loved Easter

and the brisket we ate for dinner =)

It's going to be a busy week

at least it looks so on paper. B was off work today because mail doesn't run on holidays (hallelujah, pass the gravy!) and he did spend some time watching the olympics. I really wish I enjoyed the olympics more than I do, but I do not. Sometimes I can sit there and watch the snowboardersor speed skaters or whatever, but I definitely don't get all excited about it and set aside time in my day for the olympics. In addition to that though, B also put the Christmas boxes back up in the attic (can I get another HALLELUJAH!!!) and finished removing the wallpaper from the master bathroom walls. I somehow did not realize that I couldn't just go in there and paint it now. First it has to have textured, and then primed. Oh, the tediousness of it all. I just want it painted already!! I am *SO* convinced it's going to look less flaming pink once the walls are a more neutral color.

I have given up on catching up-

and figure I ought to just start from the here & now. It's been snowing the last couple days, and for the first time in what seems like a really long time, B was off yesterday and we all got to laze around all day long. B & D did take C-man and go sledding, and then they built a fort/tunnel in the front yard. I have pics, but once again cannot figure out how to download them from my camera. Stupid thing. Mind you I remember how I downloaded them before, but that way isn't working now. Probably for the same reason B can't seem to get Word installed on my computer. Either way- it drives me CrAzY!! B had to work today- and after he made it to work he called home to say the roads were pretty decent, and he would come get me so I could take him back to work and keep the truck. Only when he got here, he couldn't get back up the driveway, so I declined the invitation. I can just see me hiking up the snowy/icy driveway in my pajamas and pink fuzzy slippers. S

Coming up on 3 months

Tuesday the 17th will be my 3 mo surgery anniversary. I *should* be able to start on a regular diet, but my 3-mo follow-up isn't until the first week of March. I do eat a fairly regular diet now, I'm just not supposed to be eating fiber, pasta/rice/peanut butter, etc. Certainly no whole grains, which is driving me crazy.

Back-to-School

Our Christmas Vacation was a little more extensive than usual, because frankly I was a little more tired and usual, for the entire month of December.  We had a high of 9° today, and the windchill was -20°f, or some such.  Public schools were out today, but luckily we're homeschoolers so we were able to get back-to-school :) . Dball has started Easy Peasy All-in-One for homeschool this semester- and so far I really like it.  He's going to learn Spanish, and it includes Math, Science, History.... yippee!  We're going to add additional History because D an I enjoy History.  D completed a full day's work within an hour this morning. Kupcake played with her fridge whacker or whatever it is from leapfrog that she puts letters in and it tells her names and sounds.  Kept her occupied for about half an hour.  She also colored for half an hour, and she strung beads while I was sorting though beads to sell.  Unfortunately she's like me, and loves aaaaaaaaalllllllllll the bea

A Whole New Year

I've spent the last couple months trying to get my hormones balanced.  I don't think I'll be able to lose the rest of this weight, or do the 10 million things I need to do, if I can't get the androgens down, the estrogen un-dominant and the progesterone up.  I realize un-dominant is not a word, I just don't know what goes there. When I get those settled, I need to work on my thyroid.  I'm taking a huge amount of synthroid every day, and it seems like there should be a better way.  I'm hoping to find it.  I'm dying to get back to water jogging. In the last week or so, since Christmas (which was FABULOUS, even with just the 4 of us) several hopefully-income-generating opportunities have just been handed to us.  I've prayed and thought and prayed about them, and still feel positive about them, so we're going to do it.  Aball will continue to work of course, mostly I will be pursuing the other opportunities.  It's nice to feel so potimistic- all
