Mom~

Here's the link about our house... it still has pictures up and everything: New House . We went to the drive-in movies last night and saw Up! (it was SO MUCH fun!) and then came home just in time for the fireworks from the Naturals stadium nearby. We can sit in chairs in the backyard and see them clearly. :) Today we're still working on moving and unpacking etc..... but we're having that garage sale no later than the weekend of June 19-20. I'm convinced of it.

Had a good Memorial Day

spent it with Nana & Grandpa in Alabama. We were sad he didn't get to see Jonathan yesterday before we left, but we did enjoy Guitar Hero and Star Wars with him Sunday evening. We got Ashlie graduated from Seminary, and made it home safely last night. Had a flat tire in New Albany, MS on the way home; and got to ride inside the van, on top of the flat bed tow truck that came to haul us and our crippled vehicle to Walmart for new tires. Since there were three humans and two shih tzus, we wouldn't all fit int he tow truck cab. This morning Bryson and I went for a walk while D-ball did his school work. He did language arts, language arts extensions and math. D went to Celeste's house (thank Heavens for Celeste!) while I took Bryson to the eye clinic for his LASIK surgery. We were there an hour and a half or so, but the surgery only took like 20 minutes. Aceball is resting now- his eyes are sensitive and sore, the right one hurts worse than the left. He took a seco...

Triumphant day!

I'm tired, due to only getting 3 hours of sleep last night. But I had an extremely successful visit with my new Dr. today. YEEEEHAAAAW. I was fully prepared to give him my list of low thyroid symptoms and try to convince him what dosage of Armour thyroid I felt I needed, but it was completely unnecessary. I printed out my labs from last July and this past February, as well as my letter to Dr. Alex and her response refusing me Armour. We chatted about how Armour was approved by the FDA in 1932 (or 1937, couldn't recall exactly) and how it wouldn't be left on the market if it was inconsistent and all that rubbish Dr. Alex claimed about it. We also noted that Synthroid couldn't even get FDA approval until 2002, because of the inconsistency between batches. I have done some research online and through medical journals (a nightmare in the best of times) and I'm sure he's done considerably more. Why they're telling folks in medical school that Armour is ...

Now the day is over.....

And I don't feel like I've accomplished all that much, but I'm tired nevertheless. C-man came over this morning for a few hours- after surgery yesterday he wasn't up to the Dr. appointment with his mom. He and DBall played PS2 for a while then decided to watch a Goosebumps movie DBall checked out from the library last week. He's watched it alone, with Aball, and now with CMan. He also checked out a "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book, and really enjoyed it. It's like a comic book (which I'm told is more appropriately reffered to as a "graphic novel" these days) and he's hoping to check out more. He had been reading huge volumes of The Peanuts. He may have just switched to "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". You're only allowed to keep the movies for one week, so we'll go tomorrow to return the movie and look for more Diary books... We did not do any schoolwork today at all. We did go to Target to get storage containers for both ...

And a little (more) better today....

Maybe it's going to clear up! I guess I neglected to mention the other day that it's not a plain scrambled egg I'm eating. I would NEVER be able to get enough protein in that way! It has turkey sausage and cheese mixed in with it :). So at least 6oz for the egg, 6oz (at least) for the cheese, and 6-8 oz for the sausage. So in general I'm getting at least 18 oz of protein at breakfast... and I guess there's 1-2oz in the bread too, but I'm only eating half a slice. It is sunny today- thank goodness. We have lots more work to do still at the old house. I think it may be sunny all week?! It's about time!! I planted my lonely tomato in a pot yesterday. I have some hydrangeas that need planting today if we find a shovel and have time. Bryson has an appointment Thursday for 'eye mapping' (I think it was) so he can have LASIKS next week. Thursday I have my appointment with Dr. Olsen (hoping for armour thyroid in a more theraputic dose!) and Friday...

Maybe it is just me

I have never enjoyed mornings. Ever. But since surgery, I think I may enjoy them even less. I have to take my thyroid meds before anything else(can't remember why). Then I try to eat breakfast. I'm almost always nauseated from breakfast- no matter what I eat. If I eat too fast, too much, or the wrong thing I'm especially ill. It lingers on for quite some time- hours sometimes. I'm supposed to spend 20 minutes eating 1 egg and half a piece of toast. Could be I'm eating too fast- but I just cannot drag out 1scrambled egg and half a piece of toast for 20 minutes? Oh, I'm also not supposed to drink anything within half an before or after eating. Nor while I'm eating. So 30 mintues after finishing said breakfast, I start taking my meds. One at a time, of course. The magic pouch is only the size of an egg- and I need liquid to swallow each pill of course. This, too, takes at least half an hour. I could take them faster, but they'd sit at the top ...

WoooHoo a solid 95 today!

So I'm excited about that.5 more pounds and I will have met my next "big goal"- 100 lbs lost!!! But I really thought this "cold" (PIG FLU????) would have cleared out by now. It's rattling in my chest- I have no fever, but I'm not loving it. I started my symbicort today (a little late, obviously) but hopefully that, albuterol, mucinexD and more fluids and sleep will clear it out. Poor sweet Bryson continues to haul van loads of our belongings over here every morning after work. I can barely wait til we're completely done with that house! I need to go over and help him (a lot) and we're planning that for this weekend. Doesn't sound so exciting at first glance, but in the end it will have been worth it. Alright I've got to go supervise Celeste grooming her standard poodle for the afternoon's entertainment.

Not quite 95lbs.....

But close enough! I'm happy with it!! I'm also ecstatic about the new house. I love *love* LOVE it! And my sweet Bryson moves more and more boxes over every day after work. There's still MUCH in the old house, but we have all the furniture and most of the necessities. Since we somehow have more junk than I even imagined, the June garage sale is increasing exponentially. I'm good with that.

Sorta starting to wonder if it'll ever stop raining....

At this point I'm soaked through, and I'm SO TIRED of the constant rain. If I had my garden in I might not mind quite as much, but we can't plant the garden until we close on the new house. Since the seller is out-of-state, all the forms have to be over-nighted back and forth. The mortgage broker says we're "still shooting for Friday" to close. Bizarrely, he's the one who suggest we might be able to close "as early as Tuesday" (TODAY) but he never contacted the title company until yesterday?! I really wish people would just get ON it already and do their jobs. Honestly I can't do everyone's job for them. Today we were pretty busy. Poor DBall has a cold (after visiting the pulmonologist yesterday) so he's been coughing and suffering with some congestion. NO DOUBT it came from Fun City last week. His amazingly brilliant mother didn't even stop to think about everyone with swine flu and colds- just trotted our hot little sel...

So I ran out of time

and didn't finish my thoughts on all that I posted below. I had to leave for Church (in the middle of the blessed afternoon!) but basically..... I just wanted to state unequivocally that "Separation of Church and State" does not refer to everyone in the US Government being God-less. It does not come close to suggesting that we need to remove God from our monies, schools, courtrooms, or anywhere else. It only refers to keeping the federal government from trying to establish a national religion. Citizens in the U.S. are free to worship whomever, however they choose. I almost left church early because of a migraine, but I stuck it out. :) Kinda proud of that. There was no choir practice this afternoon, because the director is out-of-town. We came home, lazed around a bit, then made breakfast for dinner. We used to have breakfast on Monday nights, but with B heading back to work that night and needing a nap it wasn't working out well for us. Monday will now be ...

Fallacy of "Separation of Church and State"

I've wondered for many years why people continue to yell about the "Separation of Church and State" "guaranteed" by the U.S. Constitution. Our Constitution does not guarantee anything of the sort. The Founding Fathers of the United States were moral, God-fearing men. They intended for the country to be run/governed by the same. After much research, here are some statements by some of the Founding Fathers, and others.... "I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proof I see of the truth - that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that 'except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.' I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without this concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Buil...

Convinced innocent child

to see WOLVERINE tonight!! YeeHaaw - we loved it! Except for the part where we didn't arrive in a timely manner and had to sit on the very front row, crane our necks and hold our ears because it was SO DANG LOUD. Good flick though! Also, if anyone's keeping score (I AM!) I weighed in at 90 lbs less this evening!! 10 more lbs and I will have lost 100 lbs!!! Only 100 more to go now.......

Today I did...

absolutely nothing. All day long. Didn't shower, didn't get dressed. Just laid in bed (while B slept) and read my book. Then I had DBall watch movies in hi room and lounged on the couch reading the same book. I didn't really feel well today. I previously decided to try a 4-day school week, with Friday being the day off. I printed DBall up a weekly schedule he can mark off with a dry erase marker. He was excited to see no school today. After I finished the novel I was reading I decided to shower. I had DBall watch some of the Bill Nye (the Science guy) programs we've been DVR'g. He decided he'd like to do experiments that were done on the show. So we "fried" ice cubes, and when said cubes were boiling we added sugar and food coloring. That's two experiments in one- btw. The frying ice cubes (changing from solid matter to liquid and gas); plus the rock candy we're now making. It takes so little to make the child happy! So I did shower...
