So far I've found the McGuffey's Readers, some unit studies on Egypt, George Washington, General U.S. Grant.... and Mom says I have Saxon math somewhere around here. Still looking...

I've used Saxon math for several years, and I think it is a good text series. But I felt like it was deficient in the geometry department. Although I believe Saxon has very recently revised their upper level text to remedy this deficiency, I also looked into a program called Teaching Textbooks. It has lectures, demonstration, and solutions on Cd roms. If you are curious, you can get a taste of it at their website, teachingtextbooks.com. I bought the geometry set for Zac, and I think he is enjoying it more than Saxon.

Seth is still using Saxon, but he would not say he enjoys it. Can't say if that's because of the text or the subject in general.

Again, lots of options out there, and I'm still figuring out the best ones for each child.

and I'm thankful. Went to the Dr. for "6 wk follow-up" (at 8 weeks) this past Thursday. I've lost 53 lbs, possibly a little more. I think everything is going according to plan, neither the Dr. nor the nutritionist suggested otherwise. Our plan is to exercise 5 days/week, with Sat & Sun off. However Thursday it never got above 25, and Friday was fairly cold as well and we had an appointment that took a long time in the morning. So instead we walked to the park (Angie, Bryson, D-ball, Gizmo, India, D-ball's scooter....) and visited the library while we were there. We'll go for a walk tomorrow also, and then I guess we'll have to exercise M-F next week as well. After our park/library experience we came home and Bryson picked up the pizza and we watched the basketball game- which sucked. Now we're fixing to go to the movies. Has it been 3 years?! 🤔

There’s way too much to catch up on i think?! I homeschooled Kupcake all last year with two amazing friends and their kids. DBall is a Sr at Har-Ber HS this year and is on the debate team and in Camerata choir. He makes amazing grades and it’s super bittersweet for me that he’s graduating next Spring. We just got back from Coleman Family Reunion in Bear Lake, UT. The week prior DBall went to EFY at BYU, while Kupcake and I spent the week with friends who now live in West Jordan. I was able to go to the Provo City Center Temple (w/Susie) and the Jordan River Temple. Bryson is still heat treating and is currently working and living in Ardmore, OK, M-F. Yay. My mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in March. She’s having a small reunion next weekend that the kids and I will drive out to. Bryson will drive down after work on Friday night.

This is not finished, but I haven't time to finish it just now. I do have more to say. please don't feel obligated to read this.

B was off yesterday because mail doesn't run on holidays (hallelujah, pass the gravy!) and he did spend some time watching the olympics. I really wish I enjoyed the olympics more than I do, but I do not. Sometimes I can sit there and watch the snowboarders or speed skaters or whatever, but I definitely don't get all excited about it and set aside time in my day for the olympics. In addition to that though, B also put the Christmas boxes back up in the attic (can I get another HALLELUJAH!!!) and finished removing the wallpaper from the master bathroom walls. I somehow did not realize that I couldn't just go in there and paint it now. First it has to be textured, and then primed. Oh, the tediousness of it all. I just want it painted already!! I am *SO* convinced it's going to look less flaming pink once the walls are a more neutral color. Today I took DBall, Cman and Bman to see Big River at the Rogers Little Theater.
